iCalShare hits big time
iCalShare Hits 1000 Calendars!
Go Patrick! This is a perfect example of a simple idea, done well, that just works. Plus, it’s not every day you get praised in a Steve Jobs Keynote! :) All of my iceCal calendars are available through the Sports:Hockey section. Oh, and be sure to subscribe to iCalShare’s RSS feed for up-to-the-minute coolness.
Unbelievably, iCalShare now has over 1000 calendars in its calendar library!
And the official 1000th calendar designation goes to… the ‘Futuruma on Cartoon Network’ calendar!!! (Of course, it’s hard to say which calendar is really our 1000th calendar, but, hey, who’s counting?!?)
Ever since iCalShare launched, I’ve been totally blown away by all the amazing calendars you people have been submitting. Space Shuttle Launches. Moon phases. Lord of the Rings. Star Trek: Enterprise. Buffy. International and religious holidays. MUG calendars. Academic calendars. Dozens of sports calendars. Even a ‘Birthdays of Beautiful Men’ calendar! (Where’s the Beautiful Women B-day calendar, btw?)
So, a sincere thanks to everyone who’s submitted a calendar or used this site in the past four months. It’s been a complete blast! (And I think you’ll love what I’ve got planned for this site.)

Modern-day scurvy
Junk food diet brings scurvy to modern day No word yet on video games causing consumption. :P
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - A diet completely lacking in fruits and vegetables caused a young college student to develop a condition linked to a low intake of vitamin C, US researchers reported Tuesday. The young man developed scurvy even though he was eating plenty of calories and had no deficiencies in most other vitamins and minerals. Scurvy, a disease characterized by bleeding gums, loose teeth, muscle degeneration and weakness, was once the scourge of sailors, who found that sucking on a lime could keep the disease at bay. Why is it that whenever I read anything over at Sports by Brooks, I get the feeling that life is a lot more fun out in So Cal?
