With all this melodrama about what should be a simple thing — eating food — this might be a good time to list some of the fruits and veggies I’ve liked most of my life, not counting the ones I’ve recently discovered this past couple of years. The listed items do not count non-original forms, e.g. ketchup vs whole tomatoes. It also doesn’t count taste, as there are a bunch of (especially) fruit I’ve always loved the tastes of, but couldn’t deal with the original.

Fruits

  • Banana
  • Green grapes

Vegetables

  • Potato and sweet potato
  • Peas
  • Legumes and nuts of all kinds
  • Spinach
  • Various lettuces
  • Beets
  • Corn
  • Carrot
  • Onion, Scallion
  • Garlic

There are probably a few minor things here and there I’m missing (or not expanding on, like the legumes and nuts). To anyone for whom these sorts of foods are an everyday experience, this might be a bit of a shock. Then again, maybe not.

For how my lists shape up to reality, take a look these Wikipedia articles: List of fruits and List of vegetables. A bit overwhelming, but I’m always one for a challenge.
