Alliterative research. Holy crap it's February!

Alliterative research

Somehow, without meaning to, I’m managing to alliterate the hell out of my research topics bookmark folder in Firefox:

  • Perl
  • Peru
  • Poodles
  • svn

Too bad there’s no version control system that begins with a P, eh?

Holy crap!

Was thinking just now whilst reading a writer’s blog about their current revisions — yeah, no problem, I’m just taking December and January off writing, then I’ll get going on…. holy crap, it’s February! Whither my latest novel?

In any case I didn’t get to sleep until nearly four last night so I am a little wonky. I won’t be writing any novels tonight, but there’s planning needs doing this week.

My original reason for starting to write at the moment was to talk about last year’s exercise accomplishments. But I gotta get some ice first….

Last year found me engaged in activities…let me rephrase…

Last year found me willingly and excitedly engaged in activities that the idea of which ten years ago would have left me laughing hysterically. Things like riding a bicycle every day. Twenty-plus miles to work round trip every so often. Going up hills, over and over, until it got quicker and easier and I started going longer and looking for higher hills. Nearly forty miles one day.

It was the beginning of the end of the transition from the sickness of the couple of years before into the relative health of the current time period. Along the way I lost 30 of the pounds I had accumulated after dipping to 167 during my hyperthyroid days, from 225 to 195 basically. I felt and feel so much better than I did at my heaviest that there is no way I can foresee ever wanting to be near 200 pounds again, much less over it, unless it’s thirty more pounds of muscle. ;)
