Calories, chiro, dog(s), chiro, no-go spring training
Did some more body-related research last night, including bmr, bmi, and calories. That number of 2783 kcal/day (assuming moderate daily activity) is frankly more than a little astounding to me. Combine that with a BMR of 1988, which is what I supposedly burn doing nothing every day — well, it seems not to jibe with my experience. Or maybe it does, and I’ve just been either off base or uncomprehending in the past. Anyhow, I had come up with those numbers in the past, and they just seemed out of control. We’ll see how it goes.
I suppose the point is that there is a range of calories within which I will hover around my current weight, whatever it happens to be; the more below or above that range I am, the more quickly I will either lose or gain pounds. Of course this isn’t particular steady — there are a ton of variables involved (e.g. metabolical, environmental, etc.) that it isn’t an easily comprehended problem.
Leaving in a few minutes to head home then over to the chiro appt.
Denyse took Pharaoh over to the groomers and dropped him off earlier — I might be walking by to pick him up, or she may — we’ll see. I bet he’ll be happy to see us!
I broached the subject with Nyse of a second dog to keep Pharaoh company, but not till after Hans leaves home. We’ll see. ;)
Went to the chiro appointment earlier, which basically consisted of me telling what was wrong, some mumbo jumbo about the various ‘systems’ of my body, two x-rays, and a new appointment for Friday morning. Whoo.
Saw Tom Bridge on IM earlier — unfortunately with all his travels in the near future, he’s apparently not going to be able to make it to AZ for spring training this year; I had hoped to hook up with him there at some point, but will have to wait until next year I guess. Bummer.
