Novel prep, earrings, chiro

Off and on since last night I’ve been digitizing and repurposing older novel material into a new vdoc. I’m pleased with the results — really a start not an end. As I said in an entry today over in the novel’s vdoc, I am very excited by the prospects of beginning work on a new book.

I guess with finishing the rough draft of my last book last year and beginning again on the new one, there are some very old parts of me as a writer that are finally coming to fruition. Uncompleted projects being completed, loose threads tied, the unresolved resolved. What it also means is a release, to feel like I can begin writing new stories, new novels, without these two particular unfinished books weighing on me. It is a marvelous feeling.

On other subjects:

Denyse gave me a pair of earrings last night as I recently mentioned wanting to start wearing earrings again. Simple, small silver hoops, one in each ear. Very fun — it’s been a long time.

Had a chiro appointment this morning and had an adjustment. Long story short, I really did screw up my back late last year. :) The chiro wants to do an inordinate number of sessions to get things fixed up, but I don’t think I’ll be doing that, at least not with her, due to her not being on my insurance plan. I’ll call my doctor to get her recommendation, but in any case I’ll need to get with an insurance-approved chiro if I get one at all, otherwise I’ll never be able to afford it. And I suspect my other exercise activities will be time better spent rather than innumerable and expensive hours being contorted.
