Morning chaos on St. Patrick's Day. Chicken Scaloppine. Andre Norton.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Was woken up early this morning by Denyse freaking out and Pharaoh throwing up. Good morning! 6 am, I think. Anyhow, I jumped up to go grab paper towels, and the chaos continued. First I totally had to pee, so I ran to the bathroom whilst Denyse jammed the dog outside as he was making noises like he needed to puke more. While I’m peeing, I suddenly hear a big thump and Denyse start crying out. I try to hurry the process along and run into the kitchen, where I see Denyse on the floor of the back porch having fallen over the dog and whacking on the washing machine. Poor girl was in tears and in pain. Once I help her up, she gets the dog outside at last while I grab towels and head back in to clean up the vomit.
Meanwhile, Pharaoh pees like crazy and needs to go on his walk to poop. So I get clothes and shoes on and take him on a walk where he has really bad diarrhea, which I have to pick up with one of the dog bags and wind up getting all over my hands and the leash.
Back at the house, getting cleaned up, reflecting on the chaos of the morning, on the fact that I went to sleep earlier than usual last night, on the idea that I had wanted to get up earlier, and on all that had happened in the 30 minutes since I got up.
What a morning.
Anyhow, now watching a video on Life Hacks with Danny O’Brien whilst getting organized. Fun.
Making Chicken Scaloppine tonight, the ‘tomato herb’ version, which was quite popular last time I made it. :)
Andre Norton, who died this past week, asked that she be cremated with her first and last books. Now that’s cool.
