Angels

I have a confession to make: I like the Anaheim Angels. Before you start stoning me with commemorative Sandy Koufax baseballs, let me confirm first off that I bleed Dodgers Blue. The Angels’ marketing-crazy owner and management can go soak their collective head in the outfield fountains at whatever they call the Big A nowadays.

There are, however, Angel players I really dig. Like Vladimir Guerrero (who should have been a Dodger), Darren Erstad (catcher-tackler or no), Chone Figgins, et al. — seemingly some very cool guys, and definitely stellar baseball players. Even ex-Angels like Eckstein are cool.

In this age of free agency and fantasy sports, it seems like we’re adding a Player Fan arrangement anyhow, in addition to the old exclusive Team Fan. Probably part of the American Celebrity Cult, but whatever. ;)
