Here are some of the hardware and software tools I use to create and maintain my various websites, as well as performing other writing. This is not an exhaustive list, nor is it likely to be accurate for more than a few months, as I am always trying new programs.
Celsius1414 is running on the Drupal content management system. Other websites of mine are backed with Wordpress. All of these are hosted on Linux webservers, with PHP and MySQL.
My desktop operating system of choice is Mac OS X, but I am planning on switching to Linux full time in 2010.
Images are usually processed with GIMP, while most coding is done in vim.
Personal journaling, research material accumulation, and all-around textual goodness currently resides in MacJournal. Wiki and encyclopedia-like knowledge accretion resides in the ever-lovely VoodooPad. These will be changing with the Linux switch, likely to Zim for both.

The vast majority of web browsing is accomplished in Firefox, with several indispensible Extensions:
Planning and to-do list processing is an always-evolving situation, but as of this writing I am using OmniFocus. While we’re on the subject of the stellar Omni Group, I’m a big fan of OmniGraffle and their others apps.
There’s always a Terminal window or four open, though I like iTerm more and more with every release. Within the welcoming arms of the bash environment, you will usually find me in the aforementioned vim. On the Linux side, I’ve begun checking out Terminator lately — seems pretty spiffy.
Dealing with the occasional office-suite document necessitates NeoOffice. Desktop publishing and typesetting on the other hand is done via LaTeX.
Other random programs I’ll use often enough to be notable:
