Cycling Love

I love to bicycle. I have always loved it, even if I've gone through periods of my life when I didn't have a bike. When I was a kid, cycling was a means of escape and adventure. Today, it is partly that, but with additional adult fitness and health goals.

There is an entire cycling culture, with additional subcultures mostly broken into roadies (spandex-sporting euro-types who stick mainly to the streets) and mountain bikers (grungy types who only go off-road, and often dangerously downhill), with associated uniforms, bike models, and equipment.

I am not really into one group or the other -- poseurs are annoying no matter what group they're posing for. What I like to do is ride wherever the hell I want, which is why my Specialized HardRock -- a combo bike that can be used on both road and trail -- works quite well for me.
