Panther Finder Glitch

I started experiencing a weird Finder glitch when upgrading to Panther — keyboard shortcuts occasionally stopped working, but only those in the File menu and apparently only if I was in List view. It was fixable if I clicked on the File menu to expose the commands. (This reminds me of the Services menu glitch that has been around in OS X forever, i.e. only being able to use shortcuts there if you exposed the menu first.)

Did a bit research, and apparently wasn’t the only one experiencing the problem. The only workarounds at the time were the one I described above, or switching between List and Icon view and back (Command-1, Command-2 using the keyboard).

Someone in that Mac OS X Hints thread mentioned to make sure and send feedback to Apple if you are experencing the problem.
