MVP Baseball
The baseball title from EA Sports, currently on version 2005. This may be the last in the series, however, due to an exclusive deal between Take Two Interactive and the MLBPA.
MVP 2005
I recently got a hold of 2005 for PS2. One advantage to waiting to buy instead of rushing out to get a game when it first comes out is you get a more palatable price (~$30 vs. ~$50+). So far everything is not that dissimilar to 2004, which I rented last year, though it feels a bit more put together in places. I haven’t tried any of the new mini-games, nor the crazy-detailed owner mode where you can set popcorn prices and whatnot.
The addition of the single-A teams, though perhaps not that useful to the everyday player, is still a fun bit of depth, especially by throwing a few real-life local single-A favorites on them.
One thing I really do wish this series had (that, for example, Madden has) is the ability to create your own custom teams in their own stadiums and their own cities. That would be awesome.
