San Bernardino Sun: Trail projects getting started

The second story of interest in the San Bernardino Sun this morning is "Trail projects getting started". These two stories actually tie together, as the old rail lines mentioned in "Rail rivals ripped out new lines" are being slowly converted into biking and hiking paths.

There are a number of trails projects around the Inland Empire, including in the San Bernardino National Forest, in Rancho Cucamonga, and in Redlands -- all of which should eventually connect up with the Santa Ana River Trail, thus enabling you to ride or walk the length of the valley, and beyond. There's still a 15-mile portion in the city of San Bernardino missing (not a surprise given its challenges and its bureaucracy) that needs to be worked out, but it will happen.
