Congrats to the Cards

Congratulations to the St. Louis Cardinals on winning the 2006 World Series. Can’t say I am exactly happy about it — they owned the Dodgers this year, and thus I became a temporary rooter for the Tigers (not to mention the latter’s beating the Yankees). However, most of the Cards seem like nice-enough fellows — so way to go, guys. Congrats should go to the Tigers as well for the turnaround they’ve made the past couple of years.

And with that, the 2006 baseball season comes to an end, and the Hot Stove League begins in earnest. The winter of our discontent begins with only distant rumors of the winter leagues to carry fans until pitchers and catchers report to training camps in a few months.

Here’s to next year.
