Testing 1,022

For NaNoWriMo testing purposes earlier I thought I’d see how many words I could reasonably write in an hour—came out just over 1000 words in that hour, working on a short story. That isn’t 1000 great words, but it’s 1000-ish more than I had an hour before.
Now that does not mean I could write 1000 words every hour I wrote, nor does it mean I could necessarily write 50,000 between November 1st and 30th. However, it is enough for me to try my hand at another hour’s work for testing—and the added benefit of working on a short story I haven’t really touched in 8 years. 1996. Trippy.
For a 60,000-word novel, as mentioned previously, it would mean 2000 words a day for 30 days, which (by the above) would be 2 hours a day. Yikes.
