Day 3

Remarkably steady output so far, but it’s still very, very early. Tonight’s output took a lot more effort, or at least more thinking and consideration. There was a scene that I had written previously for a different version of this novel that I wanted to re-write from scratch for the current version, but about which I was having a hell of a time translating. Then I remembered that in the context of NaNoWriMo, the only thing that mattered was that I wrote new material. So I typed in something to the effect of “Insert Previously Written Scene Here post-NaNoWriMo.” That immediately freed me up to continue writing and, more importantly, thinking and fleshing out the skeleton of the story’s outline.
