Mark Crawford to be announced as Kings coach?

Trippy! Apparently hopping down the Pacific coast, it looks as if the former coach of the Vancouver Canucks, Marc Crawford, will be announced the new coach of the LA Kings on Monday.

Crawford brings a history of success as a head coach. He won a Stanley Cup championship with the Colorado Avalanche in 1995-96 and spent the last seven seasons with the Canucks, reaching the playoffs four times in a row. But they finished ninth in the Western Conference this season and he was fired in April. Crawford would replace John Torchetti, who coached the last 12 games after Andy Murray was fired.

From what I’ve read elsewhere, there might be a similarity in coaching styles between Crawford and Murray, if not in execution. Of course there is a definite disparity between the two in Stanley Cups. ;D In any case, Dean Lombardi, our new GM, has made his first big move. I’m looking forward to seeing what players we can land.

Zdeno Chara anyone? ;)
