Congratulations to Team Japan for winning the inaugural World Baseball Classic. The game last night versus Team Cuba was a great show.
And as a side note, I already respected Ichiro quite a bit as a player, but having seen him play more during this tournament than ever before, as well as hearing some of the stories about him — I have to say he has quickly became one of my favorites. And with one of my long-time faves Adrian Beltre now on the Mariners as well, I might have to adopt Seattle as my AL team. ;D
Despite the hiccups and minor distractions surrounding the tourney, I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I can’t wait for 2009!
Better still, I can’t wait until April.
