Check this out. As of 2006-05-23, in the National League the Dodgers are:
Batting
- #3 in team batting average (.275)
- #1 in runs (250)
- #1 in hits (434)
- #11 in home runs (43)[1]
- #7 in doubles (85)
- #2 in triples (16)
- #1 in RBIs (244)
- #3 in stolen bases (42)
- #1 in On-Base Percentage/OBP (.359)
- #7 in Slugging/SLG (.431)
Pitching
- #2 in team ERA (3.78)
- #7 in hits against (404)
- #3 in walks issued (135)
- #11 in strikeouts (285)
- #8 in saves (11)[2]
- #4 in WHIP (1.31)
And all this with a full disabled list. Now, this is all pretty cool, and the six-game winning streak is a plus. The key is, as any player will tell you, not to get too high with the good stuff or too low with the bad stuff. It’s a long damn season.
Still, pretty damn cool after the last few years.
[1] getting it done without the long ball. ;)
[2] getting it done without Monsieur Gagne. ;)
