Very cool article in the Daily News, profiling Nomar and making the assertion that it should no longer be “Nomah” — “Now, you can call him Nomarrr”
No matter what your cousin from Quincy tells you, no matter what you heard in those “Saturday Night Live” bits a few years ago, and no matter what Chris Berman and the rest of the ESPN clowns still tell you, it is not pronounced Nomah.
It’s Nomar.
In fact, if you want to put a completely Southern Californian accent on things, it probably should be written as Nomarrr.
Because Garciaparra is starring in Los Angeles now, and here in Los Angeles, Rs are a wave to be ridden all the way to the beach.
